Karl-Hermann Rechberg untersucht erstmals im Rahmen einer empirischen Rekonstruktion von Orientierungen bei Schülerinnen und Schülern am ehemaligen Reichsparteitagsgelände in Nürnberg das Lernen an sogenannten „Täterorten“. Das Nürnberger Gelände zeichnet sich insbesondere durch eine starke Selbstinszenierung der Täter aus. Der Autor beschreibt sowohl das Lernpotenzial pädagogisch geführter Rundgänge über solche Orte, als auch die Risiken von Annäherungsprozessen gegenüber den Tätern. Deutlich werden die Herausforderungen für den Erziehungsauftrag von Schule und Gedenkstättenpädagogik.
