Dana Niemann beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, welchen Stellenwert der Partner/die Partnerin bei der Bewältigung von Arbeitsbelastungen einnimmt und wie sich der Prozess der sozialen Unterstützung in der Paarinteraktion gestaltet. Mittels einer quantitativen Studie untersucht sie den Einfluss der partnerschaftlichen Unterstützung auf die Gesundheit. Weiterführende Leitfadeninterviews eruieren die Unterstützungsinteraktion in der Partnerschaft wechselseitig aus Sicht des Unterstützungsempfängers und -gebers. Dabei belegt die Autorin die hohe Bedeutung des Partners/der Partnerin bei der Bewältigung von Arbeitsbelastungen und identifiziert Determinanten für wirksame und unwirksame Unterstützungsprozesse.
