Dieses Buch veröffentlicht erstmals den Nachlass des ‚radikalen Demokraten‘ der März-Revolution Karl Nauwerck (1810–1891). Es wertet die aufgefundenen persönlichen und literarischen Dokumente der Jugendzeit kritisch aus und publiziert die Archivalien seines Vaters Ludwig, seiner Kinder und Enkel, die ebenfalls im Karl-Nauwerck-Familienarchiv (KNFA) gesichert sind.
Die vielfältigen Dokumente und Briefe belegen die politischen, gesellschafts- und kulturgeschichtlichen wie persönlich-privaten Beziehungen zwischen der Familie Nauwerck und bedeutenden Persönlichkeiten seit Ende des 18.
