Die Autorin analysiert deutsche und polnische Geschäftsbriefe im Hinblick auf den Ausdruck von Intentionen der Verfasser. Eine breite Palette unterschiedlicher Originalbriefe wird textsortenlinguistisch beschrieben und mit Methoden der Illokutionsstrukturanalyse empirisch vergleichend untersucht. Die Ergebnisse werden im Lichte aktueller textanalytischer Ansätze diskutiert. Zudem werden sprachliche Mechanismen des Argumentierens und Motivierens des Partners in der polnischen und deutschen Geschäftspraxis aufgezeigt und miteinander kontrastiert. Daraus ergeben sich relevante Einsichten für die interkulturelle Unternehmenskommunikation.
