Bei der forensischen DNA-Phänotypisierung handelt es sich um eine neuartige Form der DNA-Analyse, die es ermöglicht, anhand von DNA Informationen über äußere Merkmale eines unbekannten Spurenverursachers (z.B. Augen-, Hautfarbe oder Haarfarbe) zu gewinnen. Diese Dissertation beleuchtet die molekulargenetischen und strafprozessualen Grundlagen der klassischen sowie erweiterten DNA-Analyse. Anschließend lotet sie den Umfang sowie die unions- und verfassungsrechtlichen Grenzen für eine mögliche Einführung der forensischen DNA-Phänotypisierung in der Strafprozessordnung aus. Letztlich mündet die Arbeit in einer umfassenden Bewertung, ob und inwiefern die forensische DNA-Phänotypisierung in Deutschland zugelassen werden kann.
