Im Mittelpunkt dieser Publikation steht die Untersuchung des Erbschaftsteuergesetzes hinsichtlich des Schutzes des Familienvermögens. Die Autorin geht dabei der Frage auf den Grund, ob und inwiefern die Weitergabe des Familienvermögens vom geltenden Erbschaftsteuergesetz an Ehegatten und in die nächste Generation erbschaftsteuerlich begünstigt ist. Ausgehend von prägenden Entscheidungen des Bundesverfassungsgerichts und den Vorgaben des Grundgesetzes, setzt sie sich mit den das Familienvermögen schützenden Regelungen des geltenden Erbschaftsteuergesetzes im Einzelnen auseinander. Mit dem Ergebnis, dass ein höheres Schutzbedürfnis besteht, präsentiert und entwickelt die Autorin anschließend wertvolle Reformanstöße.
