Organisationale Umweltbeobachtung ist bislang kaum im Fokus der Organisationskommunikation. In dieser Arbeit werden auf Basis der systemtheoretischen Organisationstheorie sechs Programme entwickelt, welche die Prozesse organisationaler Umweltbeobachtung beschreiben. Grundlage dafür bildet die Analyse von 485 im Rahmen einer qualitativen empirischen Studie mit High-Tech KMU erhobenen Unternehmensprogrammen. Die Ergebnisse tragen zur Theorieentwicklung in der Organisationskommunikation bei und können als Exportvorschlag andere Disziplinen bereichern.
