Professor Dr. Christoph Stippich, MD, is the Director of the Department of Neuroradiology and Radiology, Schmieder Clinic, Germany.
He studied medicine at the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany and completed his doctoral thesis on clinical neurological monitoring in neurosurgical patients in 1995. He did his residency in neurology, radiology, and neuroradiology at the University Hospitals of Erlangen, Marburg, and Heidelberg (Germany) followed by a specialization in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology.
In 2004, he was awarded the title of Private Lecturer and subsequently taught as associate professor at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. In 2009 he was elected chair of the division of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Basel and full professor in neuroradiology. In 2018, he moved to the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, as full professor, chairman and director of the department of neuroradiology.
Professor Stippich is a board-certified radiologist, diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologist. He served as vice-president of the Swiss Society of Neuroradiology and is currently chair of the Alpine Chapter of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping, besides numerous memberships and functions in various medical and scientific organizations. His research is focused on advanced MRI, especially functional and structural neuroimaging.
Furthermore, he has authored and co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and has given numerous talks, specializing on advanced neuroimaging, clinical imaging, and functional neuroradiology. Since the mid-nineties he is an active researcher involved in multidisciplinary and multicenter trials.
His personal passion is professional education of young radiologists and neuroscientists along with supervision of academic careers.
