Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich der Fragestellung, inwieweit die Tafel Deutschland e. V. dazu befähigt ist, zu einer politischen Vertretung prekärer Interessensgruppen beizutragen. Obwohl die Tafeln in Deutschland in der bundesdeutschen Gesellschaft omnipräsent scheinen, wurden sie von der wissenschaftlichen Forschung bislang eher stiefmütterlich behandelt. Die vorliegende Studie konzentriert sich daher zunächst auf die systematisch-explorative Erarbeitung der Tafel als Organisation, bevor deren politisches Handeln tiefergehend analysiert wird. Die methologische Grundlage der Arbeit bilden Interviews mit Funktionär*innen der Tafel sowie eine quantitative Erhebung unter Parlamentarier*innen auf Bundes- und Landesebene. Das Ergebnis ist eine erste Binnenperspektive auf die Organisations- und Kommunikationsstruktur der Tafel Deutschland, ihr Politikverständnis und ihre Selbstverortung im gesellschaftlichen Gefüge der Bundesrepublik.
