Hisao Matsunaga is Professor of Hydrogen Utilization Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan where he is also Director of the Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage. His research focuses on the study of the influence of hydrogen on strength properties of metallic materials and development of methods of materials selection and strength design. He is a member of the Japan Welding Society, The Society of Materials Science, Japan, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed papers that have published in a variety of high impact journals.Junichira Yamabe is Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Fukuoka University, Japan. His areas of research include hydrogen embrittlement, strength of materials, and surface modification. He received the 2018 Outstanding Reviewer Award for the International Journal of Hydrogen, and is a member of the Canadian Standards Association, The Society of Rubber Science and Technology, Japan, The Society of Materials Science, Japan, and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed papers that have published in a variety of high impact journals.Osamu Takakuwa is Associate Professor, Kyushu University, where he is also a member of the Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage. His research focuses on strength properties of metals in high pressure gaseous hydrogen environments and improvement of fatigue strength by surface modification. He is the author of dozens of papers and co-authored a chapter in a recent handbook.Yuhei Ogawa is Assistant Professor, Kyushu University, where he is also a member of the Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage. His research focuses on strength properties of metals in high pressure gaseous hydrogen environments and improvement of fatigue strength by surface modification. He is the author of dozens of papers and co-author of a chapter in a recent handbook.Saburo Matsuoka is Professor Emeritus, Kyushu University. He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed papers that have published in a variety of high impact journals.
