"The Invisible Man" is a science fiction novel by H.G. Wells, published in 1897. The novel tells the story of Griffin, a scientist who invents a way to make himself invisible but fails to reverse the process. Kemp denounces Griffin to the authorities, and Griffin fights his way out of Kemp's house. He is eventually cornered, seized, and savagely beaten by an enraged mob. The epilogue reveals that Marvel has secretly kept Griffin's notes and has become a successful business owner, running the "Invisible Man Inn.
