"A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson" is a memoir written by Mary Rowlandson, an English colonist and mother who was captured by Native Americans during King Philip's War in 1675. She was held captive for 11 weeks and 5 days before being released. The memoir is considered one of the first bestsellers in America, with four editions printed in 1682.
