Kindliche Spontansprachdaten lassen sich für unterschiedliche Forschungs- sowie Praxiszwecke interdisziplinär einsetzen. Eine Analyse vorhandener Datenbanken ergab, dass es trotz des hohen Bedarfs an Sprachdaten in den verschiedenen Arbeitsbereichen keine elektronischen Sammlungen kindlicher Sprache im deutschsprachigen Raum gibt, die allen disziplinären Anforderungen entsprechen. Maren Wallbaum hat aus dem hohen Bedarf an interdisziplinär nutzbaren Spontansprachdaten die Notwendigkeit von disziplinären Anforderungen an eine Datenbank abgeleitet. Sie hat daraus einen Vorschlag für den Aufbau einer Datenbank entwickelt, die den Ansprüchen der Disziplinen Sprachtherapie, Informationstechnik und Computerlinguistik gerecht wird.
