Jozef Štefcík has been a translator, interpreter and trainer for over 20 years. He is an associate professor of Translation Studies at the University of Economics, Faculty of Applied Languages in Bratislava, Slovakia. He is affiliated with the Department of Linguistics and Translatology. He has published several articles on translation and interpreting and a book on legal interpreting in Slovakia. He has been involved in research and development projects such as terminology databases using Web 2.0 technologies, e-learning glossaries, mobile multilingual audio guide applications, and machine translation evaluation. Jozef Štefcík is the president of the Slovak Society of Translators of Scientific and Technical Literature (SSPOL) and a member of the FIT- International Federation of Translators.
