Dr. Aparna Govil Bhasker is the Founder of MetaHeal Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery Center in Mumbai, India. A renowned bariatric and laparoscopic surgeon, she is associated with Saifee, Namaha, and Apollo group of hospitals in Mumbai, India. Dr. Bhasker has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious IFSO Travelling Scholarship in 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a prolific author with several international publications, book chapters, and books to her credit including, Handbook of Bariatric Nutrition and Management of Nutritional and Metabolic Complications of Bariatric Surgery. Her work highlights the critical role of nutrition and comprehensive aftercare in improving outcomes for post-bariatric surgery patients.
Dr. Bhasker is a sought-after faculty member at national and international conferences and has trained surgeons and nutritionists globally. Since 2020, she has served as the Course Director of the Advanced Bariatric Nutrition Course. Additionally, she is an editorial board member of the Journal of Bariatric Surgery (JBS), and a reviewer for the Obesity Surgery Journal.
Dr. Lillian Craggs-Dino is a nationally and internationally known registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist with more than 20 years of professional experience in bariatric nutrition. She holds a Doctorate degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science degree in dietetics and nutrition from Florida International University. She is the advanced practitioner level II bariatric dietitian and support group coordinator for Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is also an adjunct assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine Nutrition Program and Allopathic Medical School. She is the scientific advisor for bariatric fusion.
She currently serves on the Integrative Health Executive Council for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS-IHEC) as member-at-large, and she is the Past co-chair of the ASMBS Integrated Health for the Florida, Puerto Rico, and Caribbean Chapter. She is a co-author of the ASMBS Integrated Health Nutritional Guidelines for The Surgical Weight Loss Patient- 2016 Update. She is the associate editor for SOARD journal (Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases), and a peer reviewer for journals such as Obesity Surgery, JPEN, Bariatric Times, and Today’s Dietitian. She is the 2021 recipient of the prestigious ASMBS Foundation’s LEAD Award in Excellence in Nutrition.
Ms. Mary O’Kane is an honorary consultant dietitian (adult obesity) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, fellow of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), IFSO Integrated Health chair and trustee in the Association for the Study of Obesity.
She led the development of the BOMMS (British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society Guidelines) nutritional guidelines and the UK follow-up guidelines for patients undergoing bariatric surgery. She has been awarded the BDA Elizabeth Washington Award for her work on the follow-up guidelines.
Dr. Vishakha Jain is an Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at AIIMS Hyderabad, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. With over 18 years of experience in the field of Internal Medicine, Dr. Vishakha Jain has developed a deep expertise and keen interest in non-communicable diseases, especially Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus etc. She has been actively involved as the Course Coordinator for nutrition and bariatric surgery programs for the past four years. Additionally, she has served as an Associate Editor of a nationally indexed medical journal. Dr. Vishakha Jain has an extensive academic portfolio, with numerous indexed publications in both national and international peer-reviewed journals, showcasing her commitment to advancing medical knowledge and practice.
