Prof. Radak has the largest series of carotid operations in Europe (over 13,000), with perioperative complications under 0.6%. He has published over 250 papers in indexed international journals (on the JCR, WoS, and Scopus lists) with high impact factors, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Atherosclerosis, PLoS One, Critical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Integrative Biology, Current Vascular Pharmacology, American Journal of Surgery, International Journal of Stroke, Vascular, Angiology, and Phlebology. Djordje Radak was the European coordinator for the Asymptomatic Carotid Surgery Trial (ACST I and II), currently the largest international prospective multicenter randomized study in the world, with results published in The Lancet. He was elected as a tenured professor of general and vascular surgery at the University of Belgrade and is a full member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) since 2009. Currently, he is the Director of the Clinic for Surgery at Euromedik Hospital. He served as Chairman of the University Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology in Belgrade from 2003 to 2019 and is a member of the board of the European Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESVES) and the International Union of Angiology (IUA).
Dr. Stevo Duvnjak, MD, PhD, is a highly skilled Vascular Surgeon and Interventional Radiologist. He completed his residency in Vascular Surgery in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 2019 to 2024, following his earlier training in Radiology and Interventional Radiology in Belgrade, Serbia, from 2002 to 2006. Dr. Duvnjak specializes in open and endovascular treatments of aneurysmatic aortic and peripheral diseases, as well as various embolization procedures.
Currently, he serves as a Vascular Surgery consultant at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. His research interests focus on endovascular aneurysm treatment and embolization techniques. With over 30 publications in international journals, Dr. Duvnjak has made significant contributions to vascular surgery. At Odense University Hospital, he pioneered key procedures such as percutaneous EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair), ruptured AAA treatment with EVAR, and the use of branched and fenestrated stent grafts.
