Harry Alexander, a failing art student at a prestigious college, grew up walking past the portraits of his ancestors, the Great Alexanders, whose artistic, musical and literary achievements are celebrated around the world. Unfortunately, Harry's uncle and sole guardian has always been determined to keep Harry away from the limelight. With his uncle suddenly on the brink of death, Harry learns he could be cut from the family inheritance and never fulfill his destiny to join his forebears on the portrait wall.
