Dr. Philip Eappen is an accomplished healthcare executive, academic, and researcher, currently serving as an assistant professor of Healthcare Management at Cape Breton University. With over a decade of experience in hospital operations, healthcare education, and strategic leadership, he has consistently advanced innovation and excellence across diverse healthcare systems in Canada, the USA, and internationally. Prior to joining Cape Breton University, Dr. Eappen held academic appointments at the University of Toronto, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and Fanshawe College. Internationally, he served as the director of Health Services and Chief Administrator of Healthcare Operations at the American University of Nigeria, where he led clinical transformation, emergency preparedness, and inclusive health initiatives, including programs supporting survivors of Boko Haram abductions.
Dr. Narasimha Rao Vajjhala is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as a professor and chair of the Department of Computer Science at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). He is also the principal investigator of the Democracy Project (DemPro) at the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC) at AUBG. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Vajjhala has held senior academic leadership positions, including the dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the University of New York Tirana (UNYT), Albania, and chair of the Computer Science and Software Engineering programs at the American University of Nigeria (AUN). Dr. Vajjhala has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, database systems, and programming across institutions in Europe and Africa.
Dr. Dimitrios Zikos is an associate professor in the Department of Healthcare Management and Leadership at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). He is a core faculty member in the Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) program, where he teaches graduate-level courses in health informatics, research methods, and statistics. Dr. Zikos brings extensive academic and leadership experience, having previously served as the director of the Health Administration Division and Interim Program Director of the Master of Health Administration at Central Michigan University. During his tenure there, he led the program’s successful accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).
Dr. Karen Parker Davidson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing, attended the University of North Dakota College of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner program, completed three master’s degree programs at Central Michigan University and University of Phoenix, earned her doctorate in Health Administration with a focus in Health Policy, also from Central Michigan University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration with a focus on International Business. With more than three decades of clinical and medical device industry experience in various roles, she also served as a Flight Nurse and Critical Care Nurse in the United States Air Force Reserves with the 315th and 459th Air Wings. She is an adjunct professor, dissertation chair, and health policy SME at Liberty University’s Division of Public & Community Health, School of Health Sciences, and School of Business, and is adjunct faculty at Central Michigan University, School of Health Professions. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists.
As a team member in the development of a medical device for improved manual ventilation in airway emergencies, she received a National Science Foundation award in 2023. Her work as a renowned expert in nasal function, measurements, and patented interpretation algorithms continues. Her most recent research in nasal resistance and rhinomanometry is partnered with Dr. Moeller among the veteran population with mental health disorders and among athletes, and presented as a peer-reviewed poster at the 2024 AAO-HNS meeting and as a poster presentation at the 2025 AAAAI meeting.
