Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Michael May war bis 2020 Professor für Facility Management und Informatik an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin. Heute ist er als Forschungsmanager für die Gesellschaft zur Förderung Angewandter Informatik (GFaI) tätig. Ab 2003 war er 18 Jahre Vorstandsmitglied des Deutschen Verbandes für Facility Management (gefma) und leitete dort bis 2022 den von ihm 2001 gegründeten Arbeitskreis Digitalisierung, dessen Mitglieder das Handbuch unter seiner Führung erarbeitet haben. Er vertritt gefma international, u. a. bei EuroFM und IFMA. Er ist EuroFM Ambassador to Germany und gefma Ambassador für internationale Beziehungen und setzt sich in dieser Funktion besonders für die internationale Kooperation von FM-Verbänden ein.
