Reg Goes Swimming

-Reg is a bear whose name rhymes with EGG! He likes to climb trees, eat snacks and sleep. Most of all, Reg loves to swim in the creek. One day as he heads out, he notices that a few obstacles stand in his way. How will Reg react to the challenges of the day ahead?

-Perfect book to be used for bibliotherapy with counselors and psychologists and helpful for caregivers who may be subject to tiredness and overwhelm at times.

-Written by an experienced counselor and mom of 4, the last spread includes tips for parents and educators.

-The book uses 3 proven techniques that are easy for families to remember: Positive Self Talk: This is the inner voice that influences the way we see ourselves as an individual, as well as how we view ourselves in relation to the people and world around us. The use of positive self-talk is a way to show self-compassion for what we are experiencing. Reg uses positive self-talk to bolster his courage when finding a snack. Breathing: Belly breathing is a method of deep breathing to release stress, tension, and worry through muscle relaxation. Counting facilitates focus and calm. Reg uses paced breathing while he waits out the storm. Reframing: This is a way of thinking that alters thought patterns and how one considers and reflects upon one’s choices. Reg uses reframing when he encounters the bear cub and loses a race.
