In Fahrsimulatoren kommen zur generischen Erzeugung des Lenkradmoments voranging physikalische Modelle zum Einsatz, die nur mit großem Aufwand parametriert werden können und zudem eine hohe Rechenleistung benötigen. Mit Hilfe der hybriden Modellierung werden die Vorteile von physikalischer und Black-Box-Modellierung vereint, so dass künftig Lenksysteme von virtuellen oder existenten Fahrzeugen schnell und einfach erstellt werden können. Vor allem im für das Lenkgefühl relevanten On-Center-Bereich kann ein latenzarmes hybrides Open-Loop-Lenkungsmodell ein authentisches Lenkgefühl für Fahrsimulatoren mit Force-Feedback-System generieren.
