Dieses Buch enthält Beiträge zu aktuellen Frage- und Problemstellungen im Zusammenhang mit Deutschen Auslandsschulen (DAS). Es dient dazu, das in diesem Kontext entstehende transnationale Forschungsfeld zu konturieren und dessen zentralen Forschungsstränge herauszuarbeiten. Auf diese Weise wird die Sicht auf DAS, die seit Langem als stark vernachlässigter Gegenstand der Erziehungswissenschaft gelten, geschärft und insbesondere durch bislang unterrepräsentierte kritische Perspektiven ergänzt. Die einzelnen Beiträge des Buches basieren auf aktuellen empirischen Untersuchungen sowie theoretischen Reflexionen. Neben historischen, (post-)kolonialen und (trans-)nationalen Perspektiven auf DAS im Allgemeinen werden auch Erkenntnisse aus dem Kontext ausgewählter Schulen thematisiert. Schließlich werden Ansatzpunkte für die Schulentwicklung von DAS erarbeitet.
