Ist der Kindheitstraum vom Fußballprofi alles eine Frage der Persönlichkeit? Die vorliegende Forschungsarbeit untersucht den Einfluss von Persönlichkeit auf dem Weg vom Fußballtalent zum Profi. Auf Basis qualitativer Experteninterviews und deduktiv gestützt auf ein berufsbezogenes Persönlichkeitsmodell wurden verschiedene Persönlichkeitsprofile ermittelt und in Spielertypen klassifiziert. Daraus ergeben sich die Hypothesen, dass keine spezifische Persönlichkeitsstruktur den Aufstieg zu einem etablierten Fußballprofi garantiert, bestimmte Eigenschaften jedoch je nach Struktur individuelle Karriere- und Erfolgsphasen sowie den Teamerfolg begünstigen oder erschweren können. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen werden weitere Untersuchungen in diesem Kontext empfohlen.
