Es weist die besondere Eigenschaft auf, als 2-Pol-Leistungshalbleiterbauelement beim Erreichen eines gewissen Auslösestromwertes selbstständig von einem niederohmigen EIN-Zustand in einen sperrenden AUS-Zustand überzugehen und diesen zu halten.
