Friedhöfe sind Schnittstellen zwischen Tod und Leben. Während die Verstorbenen irdisch auf dem Friedhof final verortet werden, können die Hinterbliebenen dorthin kommen und auch wieder weggehen. Doch: Warum tun dies die Hinterbliebenen? Was sehen sie von den Verstorbenen, wenn sie den Friedhof besuchen? Was nehmen die Hinterbliebenen von den Verstorbenen auf dem Friedhof wahr? Und: Was bedeutet es, wenn die Trauer zunehmend in den digitalen Raum auswandert und es so - paradox formuliert - offenbar tendenziell zu einem "Sterben der Friedhöfe" kommt? Welche religiösen und theologischen Aspekte sind mit diesen und weiteren Fragen in dem Umkreis verbunden? Insofern im vorliegenden Band diese Fragen aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln beleuchtet werden, versteht er sich als Beitrag zum Diskurs über Tod, Trauer und Friedhof.
