Der Klimabeschluss des Bundesverfassungsgerichts von 2021 markiert einen Wendepunkt im juristischen Umgang mit staatlichem Klimaschutz. Erstmals wird dem Staatsziel aus Art. 20a GG konkrete verfassungsrechtliche Wirkkraft im politischen Raum zugesprochen. Die vorliegende Arbeit nimmt diese Entwicklung zum Ausgangspunkt, um den verfassungsrechtlichen Stellenwert des Klimaschutzes in seiner historischen und systematischen Tiefe kritisch zu analysieren. Im Fokus stehen die normativen Spielräume und Pflichten staatlichen Handelns im Mehrebenensystem, insbesondere im Spannungsfeld von Rechtsdogmatik, Politikgestaltung und naturwissenschaftlicher Erkenntnis. Die Arbeit bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle von Verfassungsrecht, Umweltpolitik und interdisziplinärer Zukunftsverantwortung.
