About author(s)

Saul Smilansky is a Professor at the Department of Philosophy, University of Haifa, Israel. He works primarily on normative and applied ethics, the free will problem, and meaning in life. Smilansky specializes in Paradoxical Ethics, the 'far side' of morality: the philosophically puzzling, paradoxical, and perverse; the absurd but plausibly true. He is the author of the highly acclaimed Free Will and Illusion (OUP, 2000) and 10 Moral Paradoxes (2007) which has been translated into seven languages, and of over 100 papers in philosophical journals and edited collections.
