Jill S. Tietjen is the President and CEO of Technically Speaking, Inc. An electrical engineer, she has spent more than 45 years in the electric utility industry where she provided planning consulting services to electric utilities and organizations comprising the electric utility industry and served as an expert witness before public utility commissions and other government agencies. In 2015, she served as the CEO of the National Women’s Hall of Fame, based in Seneca Falls, New York (the birthplace of women’s rights). She served on the Board of Directors of Merrick & Company (2010-2021) and has served on the Board of Directors of Georgia Transmission Corporation since 1997. Today, she is a worldwide advocate for telling women’s stories and writing women into history. An author and national speaker, Tietjen is the co-author of the award-winning and bestselling book Her Story: A Timeline of the Women Who Changed America. Her introduction to engineering textbook, Keys to Engineering Success, was published by Prentice Hall in 2001. 

Mehmet C. Ozturk received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1980. He earned his M.S. degree from Michigan Tech in 1983 and his Ph.D. from NC State University in 1988. After graduation, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he is now a professor. His early research focused on advancements in the design and manufacturing of transistors for nanoscale CMOS. Specifically, he worked on the selective epitaxy of Si, SiGe, and Si for MOSFET channel and junction engineering. His group was the first to propose the use of selective SiGe epitaxy in recessed and elevated source/drain junctions. This work also led to the first demonstration of self-aligned contacts to SiGe alloys, or germanosilicides, a term coined by his group.
