Dr. A. K. Chakravarthy was Principal Scientist and Head of the Division of Entomology and Nematology at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. With a career spanning several decades, he has been actively involved in teaching, research, and extension, leading numerous research projects and mentoring many postgraduate students.
His expertise lies in entomology and natural history, with research interests extending to insects, birds, bats, rodents, and mammals. He is widely recognized for his interdisciplinary work linking insect science to broader ecological systems.
Dr. Chakravarthy has authored several scientific books and numerous chapters and research papers. His edited volumes have received international recognition, with forewords contributed by eminent scientists from countries including Japan, the USA, Greece, and India.
