As we stand on the verge of remarkable technological revolutions powered by Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Information Science, the landscape of Information Systems is also on the brink of transformative changes. These revolutionary technologies promise to unlock unprecedented capabilities and efficiencies for business and society, but also introduce a complex array of ethical, legal, societal, and organizational challenges. This book argues that humanity is about to achieve ‘Information Singularity’, meaning the pivotal moment or threshold where the amount of information that can be accessed and analysed becomes endlessly vast, ending our conception of data as something can be stored and managed by humans.
Due to the complexity and rapid pace of such changes, the outcomes and impacts of technological singularity are difficult to predict. Some envision a utopian future of abundance and prosperity, while others warn of dystopian scenarios and existential risks. Who will create information and how will it be handled, will information be true, reliable, and humanity-oriented? Or, will it be state, business, or even machine-oriented? This book ponders those questions from the perspective of Information Systems stakeholders in the high-tech industries and academia, including case studies to demonstrate the implications of AI and quantum technologies, a practical outline of the legal and regulatory frameworks and insights into the future of Information Systems.

Boris Kantsepolsky is a scholar-practitioner and seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience leading strategy, business development, product innovation, and technology development in multinational corporations. He is currently a senior core faculty member at the School of Information Systems at The Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo and serves as a national representative on the Management Committees of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Actions. His research focuses on Quantum Information Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Lev Topor is an academic scholar and a senior consultant in the fields of cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, and antisemitism. He has published widely, including the books: Why Do People Discriminate against Jews?
