Angesichts verschiedener qualitativ-empirischer Zugriffsweisen auf Unterricht und einer bislang noch ungenügenden wechselseitigen Rezeption ihrer Versuche, den Gegenstand Unterricht zu bestimmen, sollen mit dem vorliegenden Band die Gemeinsamkeiten und Differenzen der Perspektiven herausgestellt werden. Die AutorInnen interpretieren bzw. rekonstruieren dazu dieselbe transkribierte Unterrichtsstunde aus ihrer jeweiligen Forschungsperspektive und theoretisieren sie im Kontext ihrer Forschungserfahrungen. So sollen die Erträge der versammelten Ansätze für die Beantwortung der Frage „Was ist Unterricht?“ hervortreten.
