One of Montréal's cultural nerve centres, the Quartier des Spectacles entertainment district covers more than one square kilometre (between Rue Sherbrooke and Boulevard René-Lévesque, and between Rue Saint-Hubert and Rue City Councillors), and contributes to the city's strong presence on the international arts scene. It boasts some 80 cultural venues, including 30 performance halls.
