Florian Berg stellt sich der Frage, ob der Machtwechsel von 1933 einen Bruch im Profil und in der Programmatik der Zeitschrift herbeiführte. In diesem Zusammenhang untersucht er, ob es zu einer ideologischen Gleichschaltung im Sinne des nationalsozialistischen Rassismus kam oder die Diskurskontinuitäten überwiegen. Der Autor stellt fest, dass die Monatsschrift einerseits dem Trend zum Biologismus folgte, der sich seit der Ausarbeitung der Kriminalbiologie als Disziplin entwickelte. Dieser Trend stellte den Körperbau des Verbrechers sowie die erbbiologische Erforschung kriminogener Dispositionen in den Fokus. Andererseits wurden im Dritten Reich radikale kriminalpolitische Forderungen umgesetzt, die den kriminologischen Diskurs bereits um 1900 bestimmten. Das Primat der Sicherung der Volksgemeinschaft vor dem Verbrecher war keine nationalsozialistische Erfindung.
