Viele gesellschaftliche Missstände können nur durch freiwillige finanzielle Unterstützung in Form von Spenden behoben werden. Diese Spenden kommen überwiegend Hilfsorganisationen zugute, die auf das kontinuierliche Engagement von Spendern angewiesen sind. Ein potenzieller Hebel zur langfristigen Steigerung von Spendenverhalten ist das Wohlbefinden von Spendern, das durch prosoziales Verhalten gefördert wird. Glückszuwächse durch prosoziale Ausgaben können jedoch in Abhängigkeit von Empfängercharakteristika variieren. Im Rahmen von vier experimentellen Studien untersucht Franziska Mesnaric, inwieweit Empfängercharakteristika die affektiven Konsequenzen prosozialen Ausgabeverhaltens in Situationen wohltätigen Spendens beeinflussen. Die Ergebnisse liefern konkrete Implikationen für die Gestaltung von Spendenmodellen.
