Dieses Buch beschreibt die integrierte Unternehmensplanung als Konzept zur zielgerichteten Koordination betrieblicher Entscheidungen in Industrieunternehmen. Es zeigt, wie die Einflussgrößen aus Beschaffung, Absatz, Produktion und Ressourcen zu einem Gesamtplanungsmodell zusammengeführt werden können und welche Anforderungen sich daraus für Software-Systeme ergeben. Ersichtlich wird, welche Lösungen bereits existieren, um aktuellen und zukünftigen Herausforderungen zu begegnen, beispielsweise in Form von sogenannten AEP-Software-Systemen (Advanced Enterprise Planning), die eine vollständige Integration der Leistungs- und Finanzwirtschaft in Echtzeit ermöglichen. Mit den vorgestellten Tools lassen sich die Planungsmodelle im Detail nachvollziehen und eigene Simulationen und Tests durchführen. Dabei werden unter anderem die Themen echtzeitnahe Rückmeldedaten, Durchlaufzeitenverkürzung, neue digitale Geschäftsmodelle, Lieferzuverlässigkeit, Wandlungsfähigkeit und Individualisierung derProdukte behandelt.
